Home

This earth is not my home
Just passing on through
Knew I wouldn't stay too long
Not with the hope of eternity, I knew
In my heart I know where I am going
This flesh is not my home
Only the spirit will carry me through this
Heaven above
I see the Light
Jesus Christ saves
When I was wandering in the night
My soul thirsted and hungered
And then I was filled
Eternity set in place in my heart
Better now, standing still
My flesh may fail
My heart may ache
But when I have the hope of going home
I can wait

I Wish This For You

I wish that girls knew what it felt like when we walk over one another for a guy

I wish the guy knew what was in the heart of a woman before he got into deep

I wish that guys knew how kind words to a girl could mean more overtime.

I wish girls didn't take guys' words out of context. Maybe even knew the meaning of the words behind...

I wish girls would stop wishing for a guy to the point of unhappiness. Maybe finding joy in single hood and being apathetic

I wish guys knew what went on in a girls' heart. There is pain like everyone else, but thoughts come to flood the mind that only this one guy can save ones' sanity

And I wish the guy would remember this one thing-- someday there could be a guy for the girl. And for the girl, a guy. Why be flustered over what will happen over time? And why take the first and the last of the times that are meant to be so precious to the one they could have? Why manipulate? Why cherish? Why cry? Why play around? God has the future in His hands

I wish I knew how to convey words, to tell others what goes on through the human mind. When heaviness offers a heart, a longing for affection and want to be loved. If not filled by the knowledge of God's love and contentment. Away from this world. Away from emotions or feelings. That does not last but brings many to ruins.

I wish I knew how to tell you what I know. So I can tell you a love poem.

Goals

I think it's good to have goals for the future.

It keeps us motivated, for one. It also gives us a sense of adventure when we try to achieve them, and when we do accomplish them, it can give us a sense of joy.

This next coming week I will be on my way to accomplish one of my goals I have had for years. So I decided because of this I would like to write out some others goals I have in mind, and try to keep them in mind as I go through college and the rest of my life. So here we go!

1.) Study the Bible at school
2.) Marry a godly guy who I can partner with in ministry
3.) Visit the west and east coast
4.) Live in a city or town that needs the gospel
5.) Do a headstand once again in my lifetime without a wall to help me out, or even just do one chin up
6.) Own a white shirt for over a year that doesn't get dirty
7.) Pay off any college debt I may accumulate
8.) Have that house with the white picket fence and a deck
9.) Teach women and young girls how to not fall into the patterns of the world
10.) Continue to write in hopes of getting people to think of who God really is, saved or unsaved

Alright, 18 minutes later. Now your turn!

What are goals you have in your life? They can be serious, fun, or personal goals and dreams you have. Answer below, if you would like or keep them to yourself to remind yourself what you are living for. It makes each day seem worth it. So go on ahead, and take your 18 minutes to list ten goals you have. :)

Blessings Flow

Last night was an emotional one. Full of laughter and tears, it was my bon voyage party, thrown by a few ladies at my church. Some of them I have known for months, others years. And it was surely a night that I will soon never forget. What a blessing to have so many women come together to celebrate the new adventure in my life. I cannot thank them enough, nor God, for all the blessings they have bestowed upon me during my time here in town.

Together, we have shared tears, laughter, wisdom, and many more gifts that have blown my mind. I never would have imagined relationships like these five years ago.

I think of Philippians 1:3 when I think of the many friendships I have formed while in town. Paul was declaring his gratitude for fellow believers at the church in Philippi.

"Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God."

Ladies, and even the friends who were not at this get together, thank you so much for friendships. It means so much to me. I thank God for you just about everytime it hits me all that he has blessed me with. Thank you!

On another note, here are a few items that I was able to get, courtesy with a little help from my friends. ;)

These were cards given to me at the party. Balloons included.

Socks had to investigate.

One of the tops I was able to buy at Target, which will be part of my wardrobe at school. No sweats for this college student.

Two pairs of slacks. About $13 each, on sale. Yay!

I love, love, LOVE this cardigan. I can wear it with just about anything.

Another sweater. If you look closely, it is a little sparkly, but not too much. I saw it the other day. Didn't give it another thought, but I loved the colors, and had to try it on. It works for me.

I got a lot from my errand run tonight, including: razors, bandages, bath towels, hand towels, ear plugs, and a face mask to filter out the light when I go to sleep. If you cannot tell, I'm a light sleeper... And the husband pillow is just an added bonus from a friend who didn't need it anymore. I bet it'll be glad to be back at Northland. ;)

Thank you, friends, for the memories, and hopefully many many many more to come when I come back! If the Lord permits...

Whom Am I Going to Miss the Most?

Candidate 1
Candidate 2

Candidate 3

Facts About Candidate 1

Butch:
a.k.a. "THE Butch", "Mr. Butch", "Butchy Boy"
Favorite Food: Anything with fish
Favorite Activity: Sitting outside the house playing the role of security guard
Favorite Playmate: Socks
Fears: Everything
Life's Motto: "Do trust it until it shows it can be trusted."

Facts About Candidate 2

Socks
a.k.a. "the Queen", "my snuggle bug", "my cutie pie", "my baby doll", "sweetie"

Favorite Food: Anything, as long as it stays down in a 17 year old's belly
Favorite Activity: Hunting and napping in her younger years; napping has taken the place of hunting
Favorite Playmate: Butch; his attempt at trying to be playmates gives plenty of opportunities to whack a feline, at the old ripe age of 17 years
Fears: Not getting rid of Candidates 1 and 3
Life's Motto: "Every human lap was made to lie down on"

Facts About Candidate 3

Oreo
       a.k.a. "the Princess"

Favorite Food: Whatever hasn't been served in a while
Favorite Activity: Hunting in her younger years and eating the prey; now replaced with napping
Favorite Playmate: Bunnies and squirrels five years ago; now no one
Fears: No one
Life's Motto: "The food bowl is never full enough"

WINNER: While Butch is fun to watch as he jumps from one place to another, trying to avoid his own shadow, he is too timid to want to approach humans. Socks is great at meeting others at the door when they walk in, or sitting in their lap when they sit down, but sometimes you have to wonder, "Is she really showing me love, or is she making sure she is loved?" Oreo has an advantage because she will not show a human affection unless they have deserved it. If they are a person that time has shown to be the food provider, she will give them one to three hours of cuddle time. Otherwise, don't count on her to be cuddling with you when you are feeling down. She rather be served than be served.

So the winner of whom will be missed the most is not only a close call, but very hard to make. Each one has brought joy in my life, as well as laughter...

This contest is much like whom I will miss in town out of all of my friends and family. There is no contest. I cannot pick just one person whom I will miss the most. If any, it's you who gave me laughs, guidance, insight, knowledge, and more. I just want to say I'm going to miss you all! I admit, I fear the relationships we have built can drift apart, but I am determined to keep in touch. When I know my dorm address, I will let you know. When I am in town, I will let you know. My idea is not to hold onto a dead friendship, but to honestly see how you are doing because I care about you now, and hopefully, if the Lord permits, we'll see each other again.

It's no contest on who I will miss the most. I will miss my closest friends. The ones who I believe will know who you are. My church body. My family and friends. Love you all!

I still have 2 weeks until I leave. Hope to see you!

Welcome!

I feel like a section that does nothing more, but amuse you might be fun to do (I'll admit it'll be amusing for me too).

The to-dos....

*how to live on a small budget
*how to put your hair in a bun
*how to fry plaintains... what is a plaintain?

When am I going to be home? What am I doing when I'm in Champaign?

I thought making another section on just whatever might be amusing and fun to do for now. Whenever something sparks my fancy to write about, I'll probably write it here. So check on back. :)
