Love is Like... What?

"How beautiful you are, my darling! Oh, how beautiful! Your eyes are doves." ~ Song of Solomon 1:15

What is God's love like?

Is it like a friend who sends you an encouraging note? Is it like the beauty of the stars in the sky? Is it like the kindness of a stranger? Is it like meeting the love of your life?

Or is it better than a hug from a friend? Better than watching the sunset on a warm summer's night? Better than the birth of your child?

Is it as beautiful as the most beautiful person you have ever seen? More beautiful than a snowflake up close? Or more beautiful than the sight of a man helping out his fellow man?

What is God's love like? I think it's so intricate and so beautiful that it is what keeps us going back to God and asking for more knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of who He is. I think there is nothing else that comes close to describe the great height or depth of God's love in our minds. It's like trying to comprehend the word "infinity." Think about this today: what is God's love like? His great love! The love that bore (carried out; delivered; created; made; produced) all these wonderful things we have in life. The taste of ice cream. The beauty of a flower. The mystery of the human gene that allows us to have either red or black hair from our parents. Think about it! What is more beautiful than God's perfect love?
