I came upon this tonight. I think this whole model's career proves that the industry is not just pressuring women to be skinny. Check it out!

They're pressuring these models to be a certain size. I think it's something to think about when we try to classify beauty by what society is telling us. Let's just say a girl can be a natural size 2 and another a size 12. Let's stop trying make everyone feel bad for not being curvy enough, skinny enough, or plump enough. You know plus size models have the same pressure to stay their size just as much as the skinny model does. So why can't we just have the norm on the billboards to tell us what is beauty? Maybe because we haven't yet established one because we're still too busy striving to get the dream? I don't know.
I won't deny there are eating disorders or health problems that can cause a person's weight to fluctuate up or down, but I think this is how it can come back to it. We see something society is telling us what is right, but then once we are scapping to get what it tells us, we lose ourselves in the haste. Can anyone tell me what society is saying is better? Being skinnier or curvier? I don't seem to know anymore.
I have been wanting to discuss the topic for quite a while. I think our need for control is one thing that causes us a lot of times to dabble in unhealthy dieting, or the lack of to overeat. Yet, I feel like my skinny friends are getting bashed for being too skinny, my curvy friends are being told they're too big, and myself, well, I fit no where because I don't have curves or abs to look beautiful. I don't want to leave this note to be my opinon, so read God's in Psalm 139 and Song of Solomon, where he repeatedly tells us we are beautiful. Not just in the body, but in the spiritual realm of things and the one we will get soon enough get. The world is going to tell us alot of things to be beautiful, but what is important in the beauty of one's soul. That beauty is only when one is connected to their Maker by grace in Jesus Christ. Being made cleansed from their the real ugliness in life, which is sin.
Anyway, here is my two cents. I'd like to hear some of your opinions.
Amen!! We're all beautiful in our own way =) See yah soon
